Plymouth’s Starr leads 5 All-CCAC picks for PUC

HAMMOND — The Purdue University Calumet’s women’s basketball team led the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference with five players on the all-conference team, as the CCAC announced its postseason awards.
Plymouth High School grad Alex Starr, Stephaine Beck and Brooklyn Short all earned First Team All-CCAC recognition, while Amanda Gaskin and Kami Graber were named to the All-CCAC Second Team.
Starr led Purdue Calumet with 15.0 points per game this season on the way to her first all-conference nod. The Plymouth, Ind. native led the conference and ranks fourth on PUC’s single-season list with 152 made free throws this season.
Purdue Calumet is 23-10 this season and will wait to hear its fate for the NAIA Tournament, as the brackets will be announced this Wednesday.
