MISHAWAKA — The 2012 Michiana McDonald’s High School All-Star rosters were announced Thursday in preparation for the event taking place Monday at 7 p.m. on the campus of Bethel College.
Plymouth sophomore center Mack Mercer, Triton junior forward Clay Yeo, and North Judson seniors John Eckert and Winston Yergler have all been selected to play in the all-star game.
Mercer averaged nearly 13 points per game while helping power the Pilgrims to a 16-6 record and second place in the Northern Lakes Conference, while Yeo set new scoring marks for the Trojans with single game, single season and career records as the Valparaiso commit averaging nearly 26 points a game and led Triton to its fifth straight sectional title, an NSC co-championship and a 20-6 record.
Eckert and Yergler put up averages of 19.43 and 17.95 points an outing for the 17-4 Bluejays in new head coach Phil Shabi’s first year at the helm.
Yeo and Mercer will play for the “home” team wearing light-colored uniforms at Monday’s game, while Eckert and Yergler will play on the “away” team clad in darker uniforms.
The event will feature Ronald McDonald, Swoop from the South Bend Silver
