PHS announces NJSP’s Bales as new boys hoops coach

May 18, 2011

PLYMOUTH — The Plymouth Community School Corporation announced former North Judson-San Pierre coach Ryan Bales as the Pilgrims’ new head boys basketball coach Tuesday.
Bales has experienced success as both a player and as a coach. He is a graduate of North Judson where he led his team to a regional championship in 1995. After graduating from Judson, Bales enrolled at Bethel College, where his teams were three-time conference champions and two-time national champions. He was inducted into the Bethel College Athletic Hall of Fame in 2007.
Bales’ coaching career began at Noblesville High School, where he served as assistant coach under Dave McCollough for five years. He was head coach at Caston High School for one year before returning to North Judson-San Pierre, where he recently completed his fifth season as head coach. During his tenure at Judson, his teams won two sectional championships and one regional championship and amassed a 74-41 record. He replaces former PHS head coach Kevin Stuckmeyer, who had a 31-38 record in three seasons.
