Old Timers out to prove they still have it

July 29, 2011

PLYMOUTH — Celebrating the Plymouth community and the Plymouth schools will take an athletic turn during Alumni Week July 31 through Aug. 5.
Plymouth grads will lace it up again in several alumni games during the week, showing off the skills they learned as part of the Plymouth Athletics Department.
"All the older guys know they still have it this is their chance to prove it," said Rusty Nixon director of the Plymouth Alumni Association, sponsor of the events of Alumni Week. "This is a chance for all generations of players to get together and share the common bond of having been yelled at by your coach."
Bill Nixon Field will host the first Old Timers game of the week giving former Pilgrims a chance to show their stuff one more time. The game will start at 6 p.m. Sunday, July 31 and all former players are encouraged to put on the cleats again. Any former player wanting to play should contact Josh Dietz at 574-286-5709 email joshdietz@embarqmail.com.
Wednesday, Aug. 3 is a night-long celebration of volleyball. Beginning at 6 p.m. at Lincoln Jr. High will be Alumni game number two of the week.
