Like old days: Lions take down Jimtown

October 9, 2010

BREMEN — Headed into their game against Class 3A No. 2 Jimtown, the Lions were considered the easy underdogs.
But Bremen pulled off the impossible Friday, snapping a 29-game Northern State Conference win streak stretching back to 2006 with a convincing 25-14 victory over the Jimmies in front of a home crowd at Don Bunge Field.
“First and foremost I think it was a tremendous win for our kids and our community and everybody else,” said Bremen head football coach Bob Holmes. “This is a great community, and they’ve backed us the entire season. It’s just a great win for a great community.”
