NWHS academic team captures state

WEST LAFAYETTE — Five of six NorthWood High School academic teams competed at the State Academic Super Bowl which was held at Purdue University on May 4.
The NorthWood teams sparred with the very best teams in the state for the coveted prize of state championship titles.
The NorthWood High School interdisciplinary team finished strong by winning a State Championship in the very last round.
The fine arts and social studies teams earned state runner-up titles, while science and math earned third and fourth place.
State runner-up, fine arts team: Coach Melinda Sharp, Captain Allyson Hochstetler, Veronica Hochstetler, Cally Miller; Jesse Hershberger, Nolan McBride, Magdolene DeVoe, Katlyn Miller.
State runner-up, social studies team: Coach Scott Whetstone, Dylan Simon, Derek Parker, Abbey McNeill, Captain Magdolene DeVoe and Austin Podlesak.
Third at state, science team: Dominic Yoder, Colton Klein, Coach Justin Bell, Captain Cally Miller, Logan Fuller and Ryan Kelly.
Fourth at state, math team: Dominic Yoder, Coach Doug Gerber, Colton Klein, Ryan Kelly, Logan Fuller and Adam Darr.
