UPDATE: Town of Culver water restored, boil order in effect

November 8, 2012

Late Thursday night, water was restored to the town of Culver following a water main leak in the downtown area, according to town manager Dave Schoeff.

However, now that water is back on, residents should boil their water before drinking (see details below) until further notice from the Town of Culver.

From the boil water advisory:

"In consultation with the Indiana Department of Environmental Management, it has been determined that the water customers in your area should boil their drinking water. This precautionary measure is recommended because of loss of pressure in the water main within your service area.

"It is recommended that all cooking and drinking water be brought to a complete boil for five (5) minutes before using. Please continue to boil all cooking and drinking water until we notify you that it is no longer necessary. In order to cancel this order, water samples taken on two successive days must be tested and meet all drinking water standards."

Those with questions may contact Culver Town Hall at 842-3140.
