North Judson man shot in police altercation

A North Judson man has been shot, according to an official release by the Indiana State Police (ISP) Nov. 3.
The North Judson Police Department and the Starke County Sheriff's Department were called to the scene of a rural residence south of North Judson for a domestic disturbance at approximately 11:45 a.m.
Officers encountered a male subject at the residence when a fight ensued with the officers.
The subject was shot during the altercation.
The male subject was airlifted to Memorial Hospital in South Bend with non-life threatening injuries. No officers were injured during the altercation.
The ISP were called to the scene to investigate. No further information has been released by either local or county departments at this time until the investigation has been completed.
