Nordmann, Fisher tops in THS class of ’12

BOURBON — Nicholas Nordmann has been named the valedictorian for the class of 2012 at Triton Jr.-Sr. High School, with Tayler Fisher recognized as salutatorian.
Nordmann achieved the All-A Honor Roll each grading period this year, as well as being selected as this year’s top student in the mathematics and science departments. He was presented an engraved pocket watch at the academic awards banquet for reaching the top level of academic points at Triton.
Vice president of the senior class, he has served as an officer in Student Council and served as a delegate to Hoosier Boys State. He is also a three-year member of National Honor Society as well as serving on the Principal’s Leadership Corps for two years. Earning Northern State Conference honorable mention in cross country, Nordmann also runs track and plays basketball while being active in Fellowship of Christian Students (FCS), Science Club, Art Club, and Spanish Club. He attends the Country Church in Bourbon.
Son of Brett and Nancy Nordmann of Bourbon, Nordmann will be attending Ball State University and is planning to major in pre-med.
Treasurer of National Honor Society and Student Council, Fisher currently serves as secretary of the senior class. She has also been active in Art Club, Spanish Club, Science Club, Spirit Club and FFA.
An All-A Honor Roll certificate recipient for earning all As for all grading periods of this school year, Fisher was presented an engraved watch at the awards banquet for her total accumulation of academic points. She also won a gold key at the Scholastic Art Show.
Daughter of Leah Fisher of Bourbon and Lee Fisher of Bourbon, she plans to attend Indiana University and is currently undecided about her major. Tayler attends the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Plymouth.
Both Nordmann and Fisher were the featured speakers at the commencement ceremony at 2 p.m. Sunday, June 3, in the high school gymnasium.
