Monterey’s Smith rocks Indianapolis

November 17, 2010

Taylor Smith, a seventh-grader from Monterey, performed last month at the Hard Rock Cafe in downtown Indianapolis at a standing-room-only show her mother — Monterey Elementary School teacher Stephanie Smith — describes as “fabulous.”

The event, preceded by a CD signing party at nearby Borders books and music, promoted Taylor and other artists recording with Indianapolis-based Ruff Dog Records, with whom Smith has already cut one single, with another on the way. In fact, Borders sold out and has already requested a second shipment, says Smith, who adds a holiday party at the Opera House in Winamac slated for January will be the young singer’s next big show. Ruff Dog Records may be found online at www.ruffdogrecords.com.
