BREMEN — Miriam Lynn Mishler, 79, of Bremen, passed away Sept. 28, 2010 in her residence.
She was born July 14, 1931 in Bremen, to Donald and Garnette L. Skinner. She married Russell “Dean” Mishler in February of 1957; he preceded her in death March of 1972.
Miriam was a retired children’s librarian at the Bremen Public Library. She was a graduate of Manchester College, was a member of the Retired Indiana Public Employees Association and a member of the First United Church of Christ. She enjoyed reading, playing games, puzzles, bowling and feeding birds and collecting owls. She especially enjoyed studying genealogy and learning about her family.
She is survived by a brother-in-law, Roger E. Lantz, Bremen; three nieces: Deborah K. (Scott) Manges of North Manchester, Melinda S. Lantz of North Manchester, and Kathy S. Fox of Cassopolis, Mich.; and two nephews, Ted R. (Chris) Lantz, Wakarusa and Wayne A. (Becky) Mishler, Bremen.
Also surviving are two great-nieces, Amy J. Acree and Kelsey J. Lantz; and two great-nephews, Jeffrey S. Manges and Jordan D. Lantz.
She was preceded by her parents, and her husband, Dean; and a sister, Jo Ellen Lantz.
A funeral service will be held Friday, Oct. 1, at 11 a.m. at the First United Church of Christ, Bremen, with Pastor Tom Dean officiating. Burial will follow at Bremen Cemetery.
Friends may call Thursday, Sept. 30, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Mishler Funeral Home, Bremen.
Memorial contributions may be made to Bremen Community Hospital, First United Church of Christ or the Bremen Public Library.
The Mishler Funeral Home in Bremen is assisting the family with arrangements.
