McNeil, Mercer are All-NLC for Plymouth

PLYMOUTH — Plymouth senior guard Ryan McNeil and sophomore center Mack Mercer have been named to the 2011-12 All-Northern Lakes Conference boys basketball team, while senior forward John Ruff was given All-NLC Honorable Mention.
McNeil is averaging nearly 12 points per game with a 41 percent field goal average and a 38.5-percent conversion rate from 3-point range while Mercer is averaging a team-high of better than 13 points a contest with 60 percent accuracy and has tallied an average of eight rebounds per game for the Pilgrims. Ruff is averaging better than seven points per outing and has notched team-bests of 50 assists and 32 steals.
The Pilgrims finished NLC play in a two-way tie with Concord for second place at 5-2 in the conference behind league champion Elkhart Memorial’s perfect 7-0 record.
Plymouth begins Sectional 19 play at home next Wednesday with a rematch against Culver Military Academy at 8 p.m. at The Rock.
