MCCF announces spring grants

The Marshall County Community Foundation announced the first round of grants from its community fund during an award ceremony Wednesday.
Proposals may be submitted by nonprofit organizations twice each year, and the MCCF Grants Committee evaluates these before awarding grants for new, innovative and collaborative projects. The MCCF was able to distribute $101,414 in grants for the 2016 spring round.
The Boys & Girls Club of Marshall County will receive $50,000 in matching grant funds for its capital campaign. Heminger House was awarded $3,214 to purchase new carpet in five residential rooms and to cover associated maintenance costs. Prevent Child Abuse Marshall County/ CASA will be given $2,500 for promotion of safe sleep practices through purchases of onuses for ever live birth in the county for one year.
