Mayor Thompson outlines city’s sound fiscal planning, announces he is not seeking re-election

January 16, 2014

NAPPANEE—Mayor Larry Thompson gave his annual State-of-the-City Address, January 8, during the first 2014 Nappanee Common Council Meeting. In his speech Thompson outlined the many strong fiscal planning attributes within the city government before announcing he will not seek re-election for a sixth term. Thompson’s current term ends December 31, 2015.
"I am pleased to say, Nappanee is in great shape as we enter the new year,” said Nappanee Mayor Thompson. “Financially, with Kim Ingle’s help—conservative practices—by sharing equipment and personnel—Nappanee’s fiscal house is also in great shape as 2014 begins.”
He then took a look at programs and planning from both local and state governmental levels which has led to this sound position.
