ARGOS — Maudie Hensley, 97, of Argos died June 15, 2013 at 9:56 a.m. at her residence. She had been in declining health for several months.
She was born June 11, 1916 in Seitz, Ky. to Brice Patrick and Dora (Craft) Patrick. She had lived in Argos since 1963, coming from Jackson, Ky.
On Dec. 25, 1933 in Kentucky she married Willard Hensley; he preceded her Feb. 18, 1985.
She was a housewife/homemaker, and a member of the Church of Jesus Christ, Argos.
She is survived by daughters – Phyllis Howard and husband Lloyd of Argos; Linda Tolson and husband Jerry of Argos; Wanda Carroll and husband Everett of Argos; Fern Snead and husband Randy of Argos; and Cheryl Pennington and husband Brad of Plymouth; sons – Paul Hensley and wife Joyce of Bourbon; James Hensley and wife Patricia of Tippecanoe; Eugene Hensley and wife Connie of Argos; Ronald Hensley and wife Nancy of Argos; and Richard Hensley and Frieda of Argos; 39 grandchildren; 92 great-grandchildren; 47 great-great grandchildren; and sister – Ressie Elam of Hazelgreen, Ky.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter – Melba Jean Hensley, grandson – Kenneth Howard, four brothers and two sisters.
Friends may visit with the family Wednesday June 19, 2013 from 4 – 8 p.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ, 15676 Michigan Road, Argos, and an hour prior to the funeral service.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday June 20, 2013 at the Church of Jesus Christ, 15676 Michigan Road, Argos, officiated by Rev. Dallas Patrick. Burial will be at Bass Lake Cemetery, Bass Lake.
