CULVER — Mary Powers, 98, of Culver, passed away at 7:50 a.m. Dec. 2, 2010 in Miller’s Merry Manor, Culver.
Mary was born March 31, 1912 in Brook, Ind. She was one of seven children born to Cortland V. and Ruby T. (Bruce) McKee.  After graduating high school, Mary fell in love and married Ted Powers. During their 33 years of marriage, Mary and Ted were blessed with four children. Together they owned and operated Culver Produce.
Mary was a talented seamstress who worked at Boetsma’s in Culver for many years. She also enjoyed knitting and sewing.  She also served as a Noble Grand of the Maxinkuckee Rebekah Lodge of Culver.
Mary is survived by her sister, Annabelle Fisher of Bremen; brother, Don McKee; grandchildren: Doug (Shan) Farmer and Mitch (Shannon) Farmer of Illinois, Tammy (Wink) Arnett of Florida, Connie (Steve) Lapek of California, Cindy (John) Kennedy of New Mexico, Sheri (Peter) Bonneson of Tennessee, and Teddie Powers of Kansas; and nine great-grandchildren. 
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; children: Joan Farmer, Ted Powers, Dwight Powers, and Marjorie Powers; four brothers; and three sisters.
A memorial service for Mary will be held at a later date.  Memorials may be made to the Maxinkuckee Rebekah Lodge in Mary’s memory. The Odom Funeral Home, Culver, is entrusted with arrangements. Condolences may be sent to the family via the obituary page at www.odomfuneralhome.com.
