Marshall County Sheriff reports phone scam

MARSHALL COUNTY - The Marshall County Sheriff's Office has received information that local residents have been contacted by an agency claiming to be collecting funds for the Marshall County Sheriff's Office.

"They claim they are raising funds to donate Teddy Bears to local police including the Marshall County Sheriff's Department," according to the news alert issued by police. "We have not authorized anyone to collect money on our behalf.

If you are contacted by someone soliciting funds, do not provide them any information until you can confirm that they are legitimate. If you have any questions, contact the Sheriff's Office at 574-936-3187.
