LEITERS FORD — Marjorie R. Albright, 87, of rural Leiters Ford, formerly of Argos, died Nov. 28, 2011 at 2:10 p.m. at her residence following a several month illness.
She was born June 7, 1924 in Plymouth to Charles and Fern (Nellans) Ferguson. She lived most of her life in the Argos community.
July 18, 1942, Glendyn C. Albright and Marjorie R. (Ferguson) were married and shared 64 years together. He preceded her in death Aug. 11, 2006.
When her children were of high school age she decided to enter the workforce as a very successful accountant. She worked for the Argos Reflector, Argos; Lawmaster Pontiac Dealership, Plymouth; and Pilgrim Farms until her retirement.
She was a member of the Argos Bible Church, and was active in the Walnut Township Homemakers Club; and supported her husband’s campaign trail while he ran and held county office in Marshall County. She was a graduate of Argos High School class of 1942.
After retirement she and Glendyn enjoyed traveling the United States and abroad for many adventures. She and Glendyn also enjoyed their winters in Mesa, Ariz. where they were able to spend time with their son Merlyn and his family. While in Mesa, Marjorie would teach calligraphy classes and partake in painting classes at their retirement park. She also enjoyed bowling together in league with Glendyn and their friends. Marjorie was always very crafty and enjoyed many crafts such as cross stitch, crocheting, and sewing.
She is survived by a daughter — Angela K. McDonnell of Leiters Ford; grandchildren — Johnny Mooney and wife Julie of Rochester; Jeff Mooney of Rochester; Brenyn Albright and wife Aili of Scottsdale, Ariz.; Deena Smith and husband Wade of Mesa, Ariz.; Shoda Beehler and husband Troy of Rochester; eight great-grandchildren with one more to arrive soon; two great-great-grandchildren with one more to arrive soon; three stepgreat-grandchildren and two stepgreat-great-grandchildren; brothers — Clifford Ferguson and wife Barbara of Plymouth; Donald Ferguson and wife Avaleen of Plymouth; Floyd Ferguson and wife Carol of Plymouth; Lloyd Ferguson and wife Linda of Chandler, Ariz.; sisters-in-law — Dorothy Swanson of Argos; and Lena Ferguson of Mishawaka; and daughter-in-law — Donita Albright of Scottsdale, Ariz.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son — Merlyn Albright, brothers Melvin and Robert Ferguson; sisters — Bernice Ott and Violet Ham.
Friends may visit with the family Thursday Dec. 1, 2011 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Earl-Grossman Funeral Home, 208 N. Michigan St., Argos.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday Dec. 2, 2011 at the funeral home, with Rev. Mark Fishburn officiating. Burial will be at Maple Grove Cemetery, Argos.
