Marian, St. Joe favored at Plymouth Volleyball Sectional

October 20, 2010

PLYMOUTH — Historically, Mishawaka Marian and South Bend St. Joseph’s have dominated the Plymouth Volleyball Sectional.
And although the field is generally more even this year, the two teams are favored once more, with the Lady Pilgrims following closely behind at the Class 3A Sectional 17 this week at The Rock.
“If I was going to rate the teams, I’d say we’re in the top three; we’re probably third behind St. Joe and Marian being number one,” said Plymouth head volleyball coach Walt Pickerell. “In past experience, St. Joe and Marian have been the two toughest teams in our sectional year in and year out.
“Those are the two favorites, and the rest of us are battling to compete against those two teams.”
