ORA — Marian M. Mahler, 76, of Ora passed away April 3, 2013 at home in the company of her husband. 
Marian was born to Lester and Ruth (Gray) Manis on Jan. 19, 1937 in Hammond. Marian was very creative and enjoyed a variety of arts and crafts. She also enjoyed reading and gardening. Marian was a retired U.S. Postmaster as well as a long-time volunteer at the Starke County Humane Society. She loved her family and the LORD.
Marian is survived by her husband of 57 years, Kenneth H. Mahler. She is also survived by her daughters Patricia (Mahler) Fournier of Chesterton, Kimberly (Mahler) Dotson of Carmel; son Brent Mahler of Michigan City; sisters Vesta (Manis) Reeder of Ora, and Ardith (Manis) Shaffer of LaPorte; and her eight grandchildren Monicque, Jacquelyn, Steven, Melissa, Eric, Kevin, Spencer, and Julia. She was preceded in death by her parents Lester and Ruth Manis, brothers Lester (Bud) Manis and John Manis; and sister Ruth A. Manis.
A memorial service will be held at Emmanuel United Methodist Church in Culver on April 20, 2013 at 1 p.m. The family invites you to stay for a meal and time of fellowship at the church following the service.
In lieu of flowers, please send memorial contributions to the Starke County Humane Society.
The Odom Funeral Home, Culver, is in charge of arrangements.
