PLYMOUTH — Margaret R. Miller, 91, of 805 Baker St., #50, Plymouth, passed away Saturday, Feb. 11, 2012, at 9:14 a.m., at Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center, Plymouth.
Margaret was born Aug. 31, 1920, in Australia, to Adam and Margaret (Baker) Matheson. She joined the Australian Women’s Army Service and served, during WWII, from July 13, 1942 to Sept. 20, 1945. During that time, she met a U.S. Army Sgt., Walter Miller. Their military wedding took place Oct. 14, 1944, in Brisbane, Australia. They moved to the United States after the war. Margaret received her United States citizenship in 1955. They lived in Quincy, Mich., for 30 years. Margaret worked at a nursing center, for 23 years, as a Nurse’s Aid. They moved from Quincy to Plymouth in 1985. Margaret was a member of the First United Church of Christ, in Plymouth.
Margaret is survived by her daughter, Margaret (Eddy) Richer of Plymouth; her son, Raymon Miller of Coldwater, Mich; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and her brothers, Arthur Matheson, Adam Matheson, and Ian Matheson all of Australia. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Miller June 19, 1987; three sisters; and three brothers.
