KNOX - Brett Kersey, 22, of Kewanna, is being held in the Starke County Jail, where he is facing possible charges of child molestation, rape and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
The Starke County Sheriff's Department (SCSD) received a call at about 4 p.m. Thursday, July 28 from IU Starke Hospital informing them that a victim of sexual assault had been brought in.
SCSD officers began an investigation into the alleged assault and collected enough information to be granted a search warrant for a residence located at 0440 N. 700 E. in Knox.
Officers arrived at the location with a crime scene technician from the Indiana State Police. Enough evidence and information was obtained during the search to confirm a sexual assault had in fact occurred at the residence.
Officers learned that the suspect was from Kewanna. They contacted the Fulton County Sheriff's Department (FCSD) when Kersey was not located at the scene. Fulton County officers were informed that Kersey may be in their county and that he was wanted in Starke for possible sexual assault charges.
Officers from the FCSD were soon able to locate and arrest Kersey. Currently he is being held in the Starke County Jail.
The incident is still under investigation.

What rape him so it makes it right? He is going to have to live with what he did wrong. He will serve his time in prison. If he makes it through prison then he'll still have to live the rest of his life with what he did. Two wrongs dont make a right.

The evidence is piled up against, including DNA evidence. Plus he confessed to it the night the police caught him. I hope that he doesn't make it out of prison..
