WAKARUSA — Lodella M. Leininger, 93, Wakarusa, formerly of Mishawaka, Tyner and Zephyrhills, Fla. where she wintered for the last 30 years, died Tuesday, July 24, 2012 at Miller’s Merry Manor. She was born Oct. 22, 1918 in Mishawaka to Charles and Hannah (Cramer) Powell. She married Adolph P. Leininger May 23, 1941.
Surviving are her husband, Adolph, daughters, Linda (Roger) Miller, Fishers, Barbara (Richard) Flosenzier, Plymouth, Beverly (Fred) Church, Walkerton, son, Tom (Susan) Leininger, Elkhart, 13 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren. Preceding her in death are a grandson, John Church, sisters, Thelma Snyder and Alice Powell and brothers, Marvalynn, Garwood, Elwood, Russell, Marvin, Lawrence, Lynnwood and Dell Powell.
Lodella was a 1936 graduate of Mishawaka High School, a member of the Tyner United Methodist Church and Pleasant Valley Church. She enjoyed working at the family business, Powell the Florist and also worked in the office at Ball Band, Mishawaka.
Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, July 27, 2012 and one hour prior to the 1 p.m. service Saturday, July 28, all at Rieth-Rohrer-Ehret-Lienhart Funeral Home, 117 W. Waterford St., Wakarusa. Rev. Dester Cummins will officiate and burial will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be directed to Alzheimer’s Foundation.
