NAPPANEE —  Leona A. Truex, 76, died at 6:13 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 18, 2011 at the Elkhart Hospice House. She was born Sept. 11, 1935 in Diamond, W.Va. to Emmit and Louise (Anna) Blosfield. She married Virgil Truex April 19, 1988 in Cassopolis, Mich.
Her husband survives along with two sons, Allen Freshour of Elkhart, John Freshour of Goshen, two daughters, Katherine (Robert) Irvin of Nappanee, Barbara (Joseph) Angelo of Fort Benningtion, Calif., two stepsons, Donald (Kim) Truex of Nappanee, Timothy (Susan) Truex of Vero Beach, Fla. and one stepdaughter, Polly (Kim) Burton of Las Vegas, Nev. Also surviving are 20 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, six stepgrandchildren and seven stepgreat-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, Theodore C. Freshour and five siblings.
Leona enjoyed collecting dolls, fishing and shopping. She loved to play games, especially, her favorite game, Yahtzee.
Visitation for Leona will be Friday, Oct. 21, 2011 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Walley-Mills-Zimmerman Funeral Home. Services will be at 1 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow in South Union Cemetery, Nappanee.
