TYNER — Leona M. Boswell, 88, of Tyner passed away at 5:23 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2012 at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center, Plymouth. She was born Dec. 24, 1923 in St. Joseph County to Elmer R. and Lucille (Lathrop) Haag. She married Farrell Oliver Boswell in 1946.
Mrs. Boswell is survived by her daughter, Linda K. Boswell of Marshall County; son Terry A. (Susan) Boswell of Marshall County and Jerry Boswell of Tyner; five grandchildren, Derek Klaber, Jamie Klaber, Margo (and Beth) Boswell, Allyn (Vance) Flaharty, Jennifer (Greg) Koscielny; six great-grandchildren, Ariel, Alexandria, Vincent, Brandon, Dillon and Rene; sister, Waneta Coughenour of Argos and sister-in-law, Jo Ann Haag of Rochester. She was preceded in death by her husband, Farrell Boswell Dec. 12, 1980; grandson, Joshua Boswell; stepson, Glen Oliver Boswell; three sisters, Maxine Angel, Virginia Rensberger and Louella Preston and brothers, Frank and Russell Haag.
Mrs. Boswell lived most of her life in the area having spent from 1967-1989 in Florida. She was a 1942 graduate of Tyner High School. She retired in 1988 from Zephyr Haven 1Nursing Home in Florida. She loved to garden and was very proud of her flowers and enjoyed family cookouts. She was a Notre Dame fan and enjoyed going to the boat!
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 26, 2012 in the Palmer Funeral Home, 202 N. Main St., North Liberty. Graveside services and burial will follow in Tyner Cemetery, Tyner. The family will receive friends from 2-5 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home.
