LaVille’s Read wins 5th Marshall County Junior Golf Tour event

PLYMOUTH — LaVille’s Lauren Read won her fifth Marshall County Junior Golf Tour event of the year with a 58 atop the Girls 12-14 division as a total of 71 golfers in eight boys and girls divisions participated at Tri-Way Golf Course Friday.
LaVille’s Zach Gurtner shot a 1-over-par 36 on the front side at Tri-Way on his way to a winning 74 for the Boys 15-16 division championship, and Plymouth’s Amanda McPherron won the Girls 15-17 division with a score of 79, three stokes ahead of the rest of the field.
Culver’s Trent Elliott and Plymouth’s Nate Kolter finished second and third in the Boys 15-16 division respectively with scores of 77 and 85, while Triton’s Greg Music won the Boys 12-13 group with a 45 ahead of LaVille’s Michael Butler with a 49. Sam Pfefferle of Bremen won the Boys 8-9 division with a 26 a stroke ahead of Triton’s Cole McKinney.
Lincoln’s Katie McDonald turned in a 64 for second place in the Girls 12-14 competition behind Read, while Bremen’s Lexi Miller won the Girls 8-11 division 11 strokes ahead of the rest of the group with a 30. Zach Allyn of Culver tied for second in the Boys 16-17 division with an 85 for the round.
