Lady Lions beat LaVille 7-2

September 10, 2010

BREMEN — After several tough losses, Bremen girls soccer coach Erin Wellborn needed to shake things up.
She switched the Lady Lions' lineup in a match-up with sectional rival LaVille Thursday, and the strategy worked.
Bremen claimed a convincing 7-2 victory over the visiting Lady Lancers at home.
"In the first half we really tried to switch it up a little bit because in previous games we weren't getting it done," said Wellborn. " I think we just needed to shake it up. We went back to our original lineup in the second half, and I think it lit a spark because they didn't want to be the way they were in the first half."
"Coming into the game Bremen had the advantage because they're up the past couple years and we're down," said LaVille assistant coach Angie Dunlap. "They're a strong team, they're getting better. Last year was their first year beating us in awhile so they had the momentum coming into this game."
Still, LaVille had its chances.
