NAPPANEE — L. Max Newcomer, 82, of Nappanee, died at 11:35 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 11, 2010 at The Maples, Goshen, after an extended illness.
He is survived by his wife, Bonnie; daughter, Sue (Doug) Purdue of Goshen; sons: Ryan (Valerie) Newcomer of Bristol, Wayne (Jackie) Newcomer of Lafayette, Tracy (Delores) Newcomer of Nappanee, and Dale (Phyllis) Newcomer of New Paris; a stepdaughter, Sheri (Tom) Bradway of Nappanee; stepson, Steve (Kim) Reaker of Nappanee; 18 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; a brother, Carl Eugene Newcomer of Nappanee; and sisters, Joanne (Richard) White of LaGrange, and Carol (Jeffery) Hope of Elkhart.
Visitation will take place from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 15 at Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder Funeral Home, 950 N. Main St., Nappanee.
Funeral services will take place at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 16 at Mt. Tabor Church of God.
Burial will follow at Union Center Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army.
