BOURBON — Kristine K. Lemler Duff, 55, of Bourbon passed away at 6:04 p.m., Sept. 21, 2012, at the St. Joseph Medical Center, Mishawaka.
Kristine was born Jan. 13, 1957, in Kosciusko the precious daughter of Joe and Carol Geib Lemler. As one of five children Kris enjoyed growing up with a brother Michael, and three sisters Susan, Donna and Nancy. In 1975 with great Trojan pride, Kris graduated from Triton High School.
During her youth Kris was actively involved with the Rural Youth Organization holding administrative offices both at the local and state levels. She also was a 10-year member of 4-H participating as Junior Leader. She entered a variety of craft projects at the county and state fair.
July 1, 1989 Kristine wed her best friend and the love of her life Mr. Steven Edward Duff Jr. Together they enjoyed life’s adventures for the next 23 years. Until recently, Kris was an associate at the Plymouth Walmart Supercenter. To relax she enjoyed line dancing and playing all types of card games. She and Steve enjoyed dining out at area eateries.
Kris is lovingly remembered by her husband Steve at home, her mother Carol Lemler of Bourbon, a brother Michael Joe Lemler and wife Carolyn of Fruit Port, Mich., three sisters Susan Houin of Plymouth, Donna Feldman and husband Steve of Bourbon, Nancy Bricker of Union, Mich., her mother-in-law Donna Good of Rochester, her father-in-law Steve Duff Sr. of Rochester, favorite aunt and special friend Cindy Harper of Rochester also numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Preceding her in death are her father Joe in 1974, a brother-in-law Earl Houin and Captain her loyal Blonde Cocker Spaniel.
A celebration of the life of Kris Lemler Duff will be held at 4 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 26 at the Good Family Funeral Home, 1200 W. 18th St., Rochester. Pastor Jim Toole will officiate. Friends may visit with her family from 1 to 4 p.m. The family suggests memorials honoring Kristine’s memory be made to the Marshall County Humane Society.
