Kolter trumps Gurtner in playoff at Round Barn

Plymouth’s Nate Kolter beat LaVille’s Zach Gurtner in a playoff on Hole 10 at Round Barn Golf Club in Rochester to win the Boys 14-15 division of a Marshall County Junior Golf Tour event.
Kolter and Gurtner both shot 80 at the Par 72 course to go one-two, respectively, at the event, while Culver’s Trent Elliott finished third in the division three strokes back.
Plymouth golfers made a strong showing at the competition as Kendall Fosler won the Boys 16-17 division with an 85, while John Schenk won the Boys 10-11 group with a 26. Triton’s Chase Butler won the Boys 8-9 division with a 21, meanwhile.
LaVille’s Lauren Read shot a 45 to win the Girls 12-14 division ahead of Urey’s Anna Schmeltz in second with a 62, while Abby Manikowski of Argos beat out Bremen’s Lexi Miller in the second of two playoffs to finish first in the Girls 8-11 division as both finished with scores of 26.
