Knox overpowers LaVille in NSC match

September 28, 2010

LAKEVILLE — LaVille didn't come out intimidated, but once Knox got rolling, it was tough to stop.
The Class 3A, Indiana Coaches of Girls Sports Association (ICGSA) No. 8-ranked Lady Redskins overpowered the host Lady Lancers 25-14, 25-9, 25-7 in a Northern State Conference match at Dale E. Cox Gymnasium Monday.
"I think LaVille's in kind of a little bit of a rebuilding state," said Knox head volleyball coach Jake Skelly. "Tough match for them, but it gave us a chance after we got started there to see what kind of a team we are when you play that kind of competition and how well we can handle that type of thing. I thought after we got things going we really turned it on."
"It's hard when you come up against a team that's five steps ahead of you in skill and physical level," said LaVille head coach Leslie-ann Boss. "You can just do your best, which I think that they did. They were trying. I don't think they gave up too much."
