Knox man arrested following two incidents

KNOX — Zachary Puckett, 28, of 1000 W. Culver Road, Knox, was arrested for resisting law enforcement and assault following incidents at Zingo Express and IU Health Starke Hospital. Puckett was observed by an off-duty sheriff’s deputy at Zingo Express using profanity and becoming belligerent. Puckett then went to IU Health Starke Hospital, where he continued being belligerent. A Knox Police officer responded to the hospital, but Puckett had left.
The officer proceeded to Puckett’s residence, where he found Puckett standing in his driveway with a shovel. When the officer tried to place handcuffs on Puckett, Puckett allegedly resisted and assaulted the officer. Puckett eventually was handcuffed and taken to the Starke County Jail, where the officer complained of chest pain, and was later diagnosed by IU Health personnel as having a cracked rib.
