The 8th annual Culver Kiwanis and Marco Bassmasters two-person team bass fishing tournament will be held Saturday, June 16 on Lake Maxinkuckee. Sponsored by Collins and Co. realtors and Culver Marina, the entry fee is $80 per team, with a 90 percent payout and $500 big bass guarantee. Additional door prizes will be announced at the tournament.
Check in at the Culver Marina and live well check begins at 5 a.m., and launch will be from Culver Marina. Marina launch is by winch from eye hooks at front and rear of boats.
Tournament hours are eight hours from legal sunrise. A pre-tournament meeting will take place at 5:30 a.m. at the Culver Marina, southeast corner of the lake inside channel. Coffee is offered in the morning by Culver Kiwanis and donuts by Culver Subway.
Weigh-in and release of fish will be at Culver Marina. Cash prizes will be awarded after the weigh-in, at the conclusion of the tournament. Hot dogs and soft drinks will be provided at the awards ceremony.
The event is a major fund-raiser to benefit the youth of Marshall County, says Kiwanis member and co-organizer Bob Volkert. The public is invited to the launch and weigh-in ceremonies, he adds.
