Kersting's Cycle Center

Featured Business for December from Starke County Chamber of Commerce.

Jim Kersting began his business career with a small engine repair shop in 1960 after marrying his sweetheart Nella Minix. They built a small shop with an area to use as their home once the children started arriving in 1962. Jim and Nella had 3 children; Sandy, Randy & Jason, who continue to run the business today.
Jim has always been interested in motorcycles and decided to reply to an advertisement that Harley-Davidson had run in Popular Mechanics Magazine. The rest is history. Kersting's Cycle Center began with Harley-Davidson in 1962, added Kawasaki in 1967, and Yamaha in 1980. The small building has grown to over 37,000 square feet and employs over 20 people during the busy motorcycle riding season.
In May of 2013, Jim & Nella held their Grand Opening of "The World of Motorcycles Museum" a 24,000 square foot building filled with over 150 motorcycles & automobiles and Memorabilia & Antiques for all to enjoy.
After the passing of Nella Kersting, in a tragic motorcycle accident, the Kersting Family established the Nella Kersting Memorial Scholarship Fund with the Starke County Community Foundation.
A Scholarship is awarded to a Senior at NJ-SP High School each year in memory of Nella. We invite you to stop out and visit Kersting's Cycle Center and The World of Motorcycles Museum.
