PLYMOUTH — Katie Pike, 89, of 328 Conger St., Plymouth, passed away of natural causes after a lengthy illness at 12:30 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 24, 2011, at the home of her daughter, Delores Dipert.
Katie was born in Monterey, Oct. 27, 1921, to Richard and Anna Smith Ludwig.
She was married to John Hall in the mid-1930s and was blessed with two children.
In 1943, Katie was married to Claude Pike and had five more wonderful children.
Katie was a long time member of the Old Time Religion Tabernacle and a devoted parishioner of The House of Prayer. She loved to teach her Sunday school class and sing praises to her loving God.
Katie had prepared herself for many years for her final journey.
She was a devoted housekeeper for many years for Dr. James and Katie Kubley, Dr. James and Joanne Robertson, Chuck and Helen Glaub, Ernie and Mary Probst, Dottie and Henry Butler, Milan and Jane Levett and many others.
Katie loved to put puzzles together with her grandchildren and play games of Skip-Bo and Sorry with her family. She also enjoyed reading, her doll collection and working in her yard. She loved her flowers and enjoyed walking.
Surviving their beloved mother are her daughters, Shirley Conley, Elkhart, Delores Dipert and Sharon Standley, of Plymouth, and two sons, James Pike of Plymouth and Rolland Pike of Elkhart.
Seventeen grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren and eight great-great grandchildren also survive.
Preceding her in death are her husbands, John and Claude; one daughter, Laurel Anna Pike; a son, Delbert Hall, Argos; and a grandson Keith Dipert.
Friends are invited to say goodbye to Katie at a visitation Monday, Aug. 29, 2011, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the House of Prayer, 12450 Plymouth-Goshen Trail Plymouth, IN 46563.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, Aug. 30, 2011, at 11 a.m. in the House of Prayer United Pentecostal Church 12450 Plymouth-Goshen Trail Plymouth, IN 46563 with Rev. R. D. Humphrey and her grandson Rev. Spencer S. Standley officiating.
