BREMEN — Jose Alvarado, 70, of Bremen, passed away at 2:10 a.m. Tuesday, February 28, 2012 in his home. He was born on April 16, 1941 in Jalostotitlan, Jalisco, Mexico to Bernardo Alvarado and Margarita Diaz. He moved to the United States in 1969.
Mr. Alvarado is survived by his sons and daughters, Lourdes (Jose) Gutierrez, Margarita (Martin) Aguayo, Silvia (Gonzalo) Esparza, Cesar (Irene) Alvarado, all of Bremen, Delia (Bruce) Gadziola of Plymouth, John (Yolanda) Alvarado, Imelda (Glenn) Godbold, Deanna (Joe) Stiles all of Bremen, Linda (Josh) Swart of Fishers, Gloria (Chris) Niedbalski of Mishawaka, Maribel (Geoff) Gifford of Bremen, Ruben Alvarado, Alfredo (Jackie) Alvarado, both of South Bend, and Jessie Alvarado of Bremen. He is also survived by 35 grandchildren and brother, Ismael (Natividad) Alvarado of Mexico. He was preceded in death by his wife, Amelia (Valderamos) Alvarado February 15, 2009, a son, Guadalupe Alvarado and a brother, Bonifacio Alvarado.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday, March 1, 2012 at St. Dominic Church, 803 W. Bike St., Bremen. Burial will take place at Los Angels in Teocaltiche, Mexico.
Friends may visit with the family from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, March 2, 2012 in the Palmer Funeral Home-Guisinger Chapel, 3718 S. Michigan St. South Bend where a rosary will be said at 7:15 p.m.
