KOONTZ LAKE — Jerald A. Young, 55, passed away Aug. 9, 2013 in his home.
Jerry went to be with his mother, who just recently passed away in July of the year. She was his caregiver all of his life.
Jerry was born Sept. 29, 1957 in Knox and lived at Koontz Lake all of his life and knew no strangers. He was known to all as the “Mayor of Koontz Lake”. He was a very friendly and outgoing guy and will be deeply missed. He loved to play bingo on Monday nights. He also collected aluminum cans and played dice on Saturday nights with his neighbors.
Jerry was preceded in death by his father, Lavern Young and his mother, Ethelyn Young. He is survived by one brother, Edward Young and one sister, Penny Sweeney. He has many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews who knew him as “Uncle JJ”.
Funeral services will be Thursday, Aug. 15, 2013 at 11 a.m. CDT in Rannells Funeral Home, Koontz Lake Chapel. Burial will follow at the Woodlawn Cemetery, Walkerton.
