WOODSTOCK, Ill. — Jeanette Mary (McBride) Irwin, 92, died June 12, at Hearthstone Communities Nursing facility where she received very compassionate and loving care by the nursing and hospice staff.
She was born July 23, 1918 in Burlington, Ill. to Ralph R. and Ada E. (Chapman) McBride.
Aug. 10, 1941 she was married to Harold R. Irwin of Culver, at Hampton, Va. He was stationed at Langley Field in the U.S. Army Air Corps.
Jeanette was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Woodstock, Ill. since 1947. She was a member of the Moonlighters Circle, the Vespertines Circle, and the Lunch Bunch of the Church. She delivered Meals on Wheels for 30 years.
She was a long time member of the Ladies Auxiliary of VFW Post 5040.
She and Harold enjoyed camping and traveling and were charter members of the Woodstock Woodchucks Camping Club for 46 years.
She is survived by her husband; daughter, Nancy of Woodstock, Ill.; daughter-in-law Joye Irwin of Kaleheo, Hawaii; and grandchildren, Lisa (Ken) Ardanowski of Plano, Texas, and Scott Irwin of Mt. Pleasant, Iowa; and nieces Jean (Robert) Warfel, Burlington, Ill., Connie Parker, Muroc, Calif., Maryann Rinard, Plano, Texas, Susan (Tom) Monaghan, McKinney, Texas, Rhonda Rinard, Pasadena, Calif.; several cousins, great nieces and nephews; and a long time friend, Margaret Paff, Goshen.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Richard M. Irwin; her sister, Florence Neville; her brother, Clifford McBride; an infant brother; her nephew, John McBride; and great-nephew, Ben Warfel.
Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m., Thursday, June 16, 2011 at the Schneider Leucht Merwin & Cooney Funeral Home, 1211 N. Seminary Ave., Woodstock, Ill. The visitation will continue at the First United Methodist Church Friday, June 17, 2011 from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. funeral service. Rev. Duk K. Kwon will officiate. Interment will follow in the Oakland Cemetery in Woodstock.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church, Hospice of Northeastern Illinois, Hearthstone Com-munities, or a charity of your choice.
