TIPPECANOE — Jane Louise Bailey, 85, of Tippecanoe passed away Jan. 15, 2013 at 11:35 a.m. at Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center, Plymouth following a brief illness.
She was born Aug. 16, 1927 in Alanson, Mich. to Mamie Dicus. She lived all her life in the Tippecanoe community.
On Aug. 28, 1948 in the Walnut Church of the Brethren, in Argos, she married Glendon E. Bailey. He preceded her Aug. 21, 2004.
Jane spent her life as a farmer’s wife/ homemaker. She spent many years milking cows and feeding chickens. Her greatest love was cooking and baking followed very closely by gardening. She had prepared many goodies for this Christmas holiday and had spent much time canning this past summer. She enjoyed feeding and watching the birds, especially the hummingbirds, having to refill two feeders daily during the summer.
She is a member of the Walnut Church of the Brethren, Argos; formerly involved with Walnut Township Home Extensions Club, and The Marshall County Farm Bureau, Marshall County. She and her husband contributed many projects to the Open Exhibits at the county 4-H Fair.
She attended Walnut Township and Argos Community Schools.
She is survived by a daughter – Rosemand Lindenman of New Paris; sons – Dennis Bailey and wife Cindy of Tippecanoe; Lyndon Bailey and wife Mindy of Argos; Tim Bailey and wife Peggy of Argos; grandchildren – Kip Bailey and wife Dana; Kirk Bailey and wife Vicki; Kyri Quimby and husband Cal; Mandy Nifong and husband Andy; Scott Bailey and wife Mandy; Chad Bailey and wife Kylie, Alyssa Hoffman and husband Mark; Trent Lindenman and wife Heather; and Tori Lindenman; and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her mother, husband, and son-in-law – Phil Lindenman.
Friends may visit with the family Friday, Jan. 18, 2013 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Earl-Grossman Funeral Home, 208 N. Michigan St., Argos, and one hour prior to the funeral service at the church.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 19, 2013 at the Walnut Church of the Brethren, 19056 Gumwood Road, Argos, with Rev. Robert E. Rice Jr. of the Walnut Church of the Brethren, Argos officiating.
Burial will be at Walnut Church of the Brethren Cemetery, Argos.
