WARSAW — James Edward Reeve of Miller’s Merry Manor, 1630 S. County Farm Road, Warsaw, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 27, 2011 at 10:25 a.m. at Miller’s Merry Manor at the age of 93.
He was born July 8, 1918 in Hobart to Charles William Reeve and Minnie (Theide) Reeve. Dec. 3, 1946 he was married to Kathryn Naomi Colvin, who passed away April 18, 2009.
James was a resident of Kosciusko County for the past 51 years where he was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Warsaw. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was honorably discharged in 1950. He was a member of the American Legion Post #49, VFW #1126, the Lake City Lions Club, and the Warsaw Moose Lodge #1423.
He will be lovingly remembered by his two sons: James (wife Sheri) Reeve (Pierceton); Dennis (wife Shelly) Reeve (Warsaw); and one daughter: Darlene (husband Jerry) DeTurk (Warsaw). He also leaves behind five grandchildren: Michael Reeve (Statesville, N.C.); Scott Reeve (Houston, Texas); Brian (wife Melanie) Reeve (Garner, N.C.); Jennifer (husband Bill) Lehman (Warsaw); Matthew (wife Stephanie) Reeve (Fishers); four great-grandchildren; and his half-brother: David (wife Barbara) Reeve (Crystal Lake, Ill.). James was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and one sister.
Visitation will be held Thursday, Sept. 29, 2011 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw.
His funeral service will be conducted Friday, Sept. 30, 2011 at 10 a.m. at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, Warsaw, officiated by Pastor David Hummel. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery of Warsaw with military rites conducted by the Indiana ARNG Honor Guard, and the American Legion Post #49 and VFW #1126 both of Warsaw.
