BEAVER DAM, Ky. — Jack Grimmett, 84, of Beaver Dam, Ky. died Saturday April 30, 2011 at his home. 
He was born in Crichton, W.V. Oct. 8, 1926, to the late Everet Guy and Elisabeth Wheeler Grimmett. He was a truck driver for Gary Transfer, served in the U.S. Navy during WWII, received a Purple Heart when his ship the USS Bush sank, was a member of the DAV, American Legion Post, and also enjoyed fishing and yard work.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Shirley Evans Grimmett; two sons, Guy Raymond Grimmett of Lewisburg, Ky. and Mark Randall (Karen) Grimmett of Plymouth, Ind.; a sister, Carolyn Henson of Beaver Dam, Ky.; four grandchildren: Danny, Keely, Trevor and Seth; also several nieces and nephews.
Services are at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 3 at Bevil Bros. Funeral Home in Beaver Dam with Bro. Roy Loney officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday from 4 to 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Military honors will be presented by the Wesley Phelps Honor Guard.
