GROVERTOWN — Ilene A. Hardesty, age 85, of Grovertown passed away at 8:13 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 7, 2013, at Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center in Plymouth.
Ilene was born Dec. 19, 1927, in Plymouth, to Ellis Lloyd and Lillian I. (Jack) Stiles. Ilene became the bride of Glenn F. Hardesty on Aug. 30, 1952, in Starke County. Ilene worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant at Pilgrim Manor Nursing Home and the Catherine Kasper Home. She was a member of the New Life Pentecostal Church in Hamlet.
Ilene is survived by her loving husband, Glenn F. Hardesty; her daughter, Diane Johnson of Grovertown; her sons, Bob (Brenda) Jacobs of Grovertown and Glenn Jr. (Debbie) Hardesty of Plymouth; 16 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren; her brothers, Ellis Stiles, of Plymouth, Larry Stiles of Tennessee and Vern Stiles of Plymouth. Ilene was preceded in death by her daughter, Kay Smolen; her sisters, Beverly and Helma; and her brother, Gaylard.
