Hope Jordan caps off outstanding Bremen CC season

November 1, 2010

BREMEN — A coach’s expectations can be hard to surpass, but the Bremen girls cross country team did so this fall.
Coach Mick Gardner’s Lions won the Northern State Conference title and went to semi-state as a team, while senior Hope Jordan made it to state as an individual.
“I didn’t think we’d make it that far at the beginning of the year,” Gardner said. “I thought we had a good shot at making it out of the sectional. They surprised me in individual races and in how far we made it as a group. It was a lot of fun.”
Bremen’s season ended at Saturday’s state finals in Terre Haute, as Jordan finished 61st with a time of 19:48, a minute slower than her fifth-place finish at the New Haven semi-state.
