BOURBON — Helen Louise Wright, 95, Peyton, Colo. formerly of Bourbon went to be with Dale at 11:30 p.m. April 15, 2013 at Life Care Center of Colorado Springs.
Helen was born Jan. 31, 1918, in Bourbon to Harvey and Pearl Parks Byrer. On May 12, 1935 she married Dale Edward Wright who preceded her in death Jan. 19, 2006. They had 71 years of marriage and organized the Golden Butterflies club in Golf Lakes Estates, where they spent their last 31 winters.
She lived in Bourbon most of her life working as a dental assistant. After retirement she and Dale became “snowbirds” in Bradenton, Fla. She enjoyed her art during retirement, working with china painting, oil painting and ceramics.
She leaves behind two daughters. Rita Ryle, San Pedro, Calif. also Sherry and Joe Bilodeau, Peyton, Colo. She has four grandchildren: Lisa and Cesar Caceres, San Pedro, Calif., Douglas and Kara Lemler, Warsaw, Ty and Tina Lemler, Colorado Springs, Mary and John Killen, Fountain, Colo. There are also nine great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 22 at Parks Cemetery with Pastor Stormy Scherer-Berry of the Bourbon First United Methodist Church officiating. Helen will be laid to rest next to Dale at the Parks Cemetery, Bourbon.
