Town-wide clean-up Saturday

The Town of Culver will hold its spring Town Wide Clean-Up day Saturday, May 14, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. A dumpster, provided by the town, will be placed at the water tower on Lake Shore Dr. Hazardous materials and tires will not be accepted.

Those needing items picked up may call Bob Porter at 574-292-3943 to schedule a pick up time.

Farmers’ Market opens Saturday

The Culver Farmers’ Market, sponsored by the Chamber of Commerce, will open from May 14 through October 8, each Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon. Located at the corner of Jefferson and Ohio Streets, across from CVS, the market features fresh produce, plants, flowers, herbs, local honey and sorghum, eggs, meat, processed jams, salsa and pickles, baked goods, and handmade crafts.

Free bike clinic Saturday

The Bike Barn in Culver, 103 Lake Shore Drive, will offer a free "Fix-A-Flat Tire" clinic this Saturday, May 14 at noon. Learn to patch and change flat tires, and bring your flats and get a free patch kit. The event is open to all ages. For more information, visit www.bikebarnculver.com, or call 574-842-3606.

VFW scholarship fund-raiser Saturday

Culver’s VFW #6919 Men’s Auxiliary will hold a smoked chicken dinner, part of its Culver Community High School scholarship fund raiser, at the Post at 108 East Washington Street. Baked beans and chips are included in the meal, but availability is limited, so get tickets now. The dinner takes place Saturday, May 14, from 1 to 5 p.m. Cost is $7 per dinner. Tickets are available behind the bar.

Celebration of Minix Saturday

The community is invited to please join the friends and family of Paul R. Minix in celebrating his life with a carry-in dinner Saturday, May 14 at the old Bass Lake Fire Dept (S.R. 10) at 4 p.m. eastern time. Bring a covered dish or dessert. Community meal at Grace Sunday

Grace United Church of Christ will hold its monthly community meal on Monday, May 15 at 6 p.m. All are invited to this free, ecumenical event whose purpose is to share a friendly meal in a welcoming, community atmosphere. The meals are held on the 15th day of each month in the basement of the church.
