Glenn shuts out LaVille in lopsided NSC win

WALKERTON — It was the best of times, it was the worst of times.
For the second straight week, John Glenn’s defense put up a goose egg, and for the second straight week LaVille’s offense laid one.
Glenn held LaVille to a net total of -4 yards rushing and just 14 total offensive yards, while the Falcons scored on all but their last possession of the first half.
The Lancers finished with only two first downs — including one on a pass interference penalty — and Glenn needed just 17 plays to rattle off 42 points in the in the first half en route to a 49-0 Northern State Conference victory at home Friday.
“John Glenn is fast and physical,” said LaVille head football coach Brian Stultz. “Like I told our guys, we don’t need to beat these teams, we have to compete with these teams. We have to beat the 1A schools; we have to beat the Lake Stations, the Tritons, the Culvers, South Central. Against big teams we just have to be competitive and be able to hang with them, and tonight we didn’t. They came out running on all cylinders, and they looked really good.”
