BOURBON — Mrs. Galina “Gali” Edwards, 88, a resident of Warsaw Meadows Care Center and formerly of Garden Court Senior Living in Bourbon, passed away Monday, April 30, 2012 at 12:15 p.m. in Warsaw Meadows Care Center.
Galina was born to John Lavroff and Vera Morozoff Lavroff who were Russian emigrees of the Bolshevik Revolution in Harbin, Manchuria China Sept. 19, 1923. She married at Tsingtao, China to Gene Edwards who preceded her in death.
She is survived by her children; Dinah (Mrs. Marvin) Thacker of Tippecanoe, Karen (Mrs. Michael) Gordon of Argos, Roy and Donna Edwards of East Ridge, Tenn. and Thomas and fiancé Sue Markey of Spencerville. She was further blessed by 12 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and six great-grandchildren.
Galina was retired from Kimble Glass of Warsaw, was a Vanda Beauty Counselor and a sales representative for World Book Encyclopedia Co. She was a member of the Russian Orthodox Church and enjoyed reading, gardening and traveling.
Friends and family may come to celebrate her life at a Grave Side Service and informal time of sharing Thursday, May 3 at 2 p.m. in Bethel Cemetery (1/2 mile north of 15th Road on Gumwood Road) Argos.
The family asks that memorial contributions be made to: Gideon’s International for Russian Bibles for Russia.
