Five minutes could mean $20 for B&G Club

November 19, 2012

BREMEN — What can a person do in five minutes? Unload the dishwasher? Get the mail and bring the recycling and trash bins back to their stationary posts until next pickup? Diaper a squirming baby ... or they can earn $20 for the local Boys and Girls Club.
Laura Martin and her husband Tim, owners of Tim Martin Buick, Pontiac, GMC in Plymouth; Bremen Ford; and Tim Martin Used Auto Sales in South Bend have run the Bremen location for 25 years (she for 18) and throughout that time have been involved in too many local and area fundraisers to list. But the latest one may be the easiest for community members to be involved with, since it doesn’t cost them a thing.
“From 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 15 we’re hosting ‘Go Further With Ford Night,’” Martin said. “For the first 50 families that stop in and register, Ford Motor Company will donate $10 each to the local club. Tim and I will match that and so potentially, together we could raise $1,000 for the organization.”
She said the event is a final part of the “Random Acts of Fusion” promotion led by Ford (and hosted by Ryan Seacrest) and introduces the 2013 Fusion and showcase some of Ford’s other newest items.
“We got to choose which charitable organization to benefit for this,” Martin explained. “We know the Bremen Boys and Girls Club is a worthwhile organization and we want to keep it going for the kids. …We’ll have refreshments for the event and a black 2013 Fusion on our showroom floor. Basically they’ll come in and (on the computer) register to win a Fusion. They’ll be asked to fill out a form that asks their name and address and asks what they think about the Fusion and other Ford products. It takes them all of maybe five minutes.”
Ford is looking for general feedback from consumers and at the same time is offering a brand new vehicle, is donating to a good cause and offering the chance for the general public to judge with the best and try to win a unique, live VIP experience with American Idol, during the show’s 12th season.
“Ford sponsors American Idol,” said Martin. “We’ll also have little video cameras for people, if they want to try at a chance for seeing American Idol. It’s part of registering and you can learn about that online too, at the American Idol or Ford websites.”
Locally, call Tim Martin Ford in Bremen at 877-207-2727 or visit the website at http:/www.timmartinautosales.com or stop by the Bremen location at 1203 W. Plymouth in Bremen to learn more.
