NAPPANEE — Fawn Heisler, 97, of Nappanee, formerly of Etna Green passed away Friday, Jan. 18, 2013 at 4:45 a.m. in LuAnn Nursing Home.
She was a lifelong resident of the Etna Green and Bourbon area and graduated from Bourbon High School in the class of 1934. She was a homemaker, cleaned houses and worked as a cook at Etna Green School where she retired. Fawn was a faithful member of Etna Green United Methodist Church and a member of the Thimble Club. She was a wonderful cook known for her angel food cakes and homemade noodles. She also enjoyed cooking for the Lions Club, quilting and playing euchre.
Fawn was born the daughter of Rollie and Lydia Eaglebarger Bessinger on Feb. 17, 1915 at Bourbon.
On Aug. 25, 1935 she married John E. Heisler who preceded in death, Jan. 16, 1988. Fawn was blessed with a daughter; Josephine and husband Richard Reprogle of Kokomo, four grandchildren; Michael and wife Kristi Reprogle of Greentown, Matthew and wife Karen Reprogle of Noblesville, Denise and husband David Rosenthal of Cicero and Angela and husband Brian Shockney of Lafayette. She was further blessed with 11 great-grandchildren, her sister, Evelyn Hall of Bourbon and her brother, Max and wife Jessie Bessinger of Three Rivers, Mich.
She was preceded in death by three great-grandchildren, two sisters; Genevieve Heckaman, Lavon Stackhouse and two brothers; Roy and Wayne Bessinger.
The family will receive friends Monday, Jan. 21 from 4 – 7 p.m. in Deaton-Clemens Funeral Home, 115 S. Main St., Bourbon.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Etna Green United Methodist Church, 131 W. Broadway St., Etna Green with Pastor Joe Lampton officiating.
Burial will follow in Etna Green Cemetery at Etna Green.
The family requests memorial contributions to: Etna Green United Methodist Church in her memory.
