Fast moving storm blows through Plymouth, Marshall County

PLYMOUTH — Darkness descended upon the land Wednesday at noon, as a fast moving thunderstorm rumbled through.

Torrential rains, strong winds and lightning signaled its arrival. In less than a half-hour it was gone.

Plymouth street crews were out on the roads immediately, looking for downed trees, downed lines and other hazards.

The National Weather Service issued a severe thunderstorm warning for the area until 12:45 p.m. The storm was moving east at about 40 miles per hour, with wind gusts estimated about 60 miles per hour.

According to the NWS, penny size hail was indicated and damage could be expected to roofs, siding and tress.
